Ling Shun Temple, renowned as "The First Wealth God Temple in the World," is situated atop Beigao Peak in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. With a history spanning over 1,600 years, it is one of Hangzhou’s oldest and most revered temples. Originally established during the Xianhe era of the Eastern Jin Dynasty by the Indian monk Master Huili, Ling Shun Temple has long been a significant center of Buddhist practice. During the Northern Song Dynasty, it gained widespread acclaim for enshrining the "Five Manifest Wealth Gods," earning its title as the "Wealth God Temple." By the Ming Dynasty, it had further solidified its reputation as "The First Wealth God Temple in the World."

The temple holds a prominent position within the Buddhist community while seamlessly blending elements of folk belief. Within its hallowed halls, devotees honor Huaguang Wealth God, Literary and Martial Wealth Gods, and the Esoteric Five-Lineage Wealth Gods, reflecting aspirations for blessings such as prosperity, longevity, joy, health, and peace. Over the centuries, emperors and literary figures, including Emperor Huizong of Song, Emperor Kangxi, Emperor Qianlong, Tang Dynasty poet Fang Gan, and Song Dynasty literary master Su Dongpo, have visited the temple, leaving behind poetry and calligraphy that further enrich its cultural legacy.
