Ling Shun Temple, celebrated as "The First Wealth God Temple in the World," is majestically located atop Beigao Peak in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. With over 1,600 years of history, it is one of the most ancient and renowned temples in Hangzhou. Originally established during the Xianhe era of the Eastern Jin Dynasty by the Indian monk Master Huili, Ling Shun Temple holds a significant place in Buddhist history. During the Northern Song Dynasty, it gained immense fame for enshrining the "Five Manifest Wealth Gods," earning the revered title "Wealth God Temple." By the Ming Dynasty, it had further solidified its reputation as "The First Wealth God Temple in the World."

The temple enjoys a prominent status in the Buddhist community while seamlessly incorporating elements of folk belief. Within its sacred halls, devotees venerate Huaguang Wealth God, Literary and Martial Wealth Gods, and the Esoteric Five-Lineage Wealth Gods, fulfilling aspirations for blessings such as prosperity, longevity, joy, health, and peace. Over centuries, emperors and literary figures, including Emperor Huizong of Song, Emperor Kangxi, Emperor Qianlong, Tang Dynasty poet Fang Gan, and Song Dynasty literary master Su Dongpo, have visited the temple, leaving behind poems and calligraphy that enrich its cultural and spiritual heritage.
